Submission to Australian government consultation on ‘Public Beneficial Ownership Register’
Australia currently lags behind much of the rest of the world regarding beneficial ownership disclosure. To increase transparency, ensure appropriate tax compliance, eliminate opportunities for criminal activity, violations of sanctions and money laundering, a public register of beneficial ownership is urgently needed in Australia.
