Comment on the Review of AusTender data against the Open Contracting Data Standard 

The Australian Government has stated in its Public Data Policy Statement that data should be ‘open by default’. The Review does not define its use of the word ‘open’ when referring to Government data. When discussing ‘open data’ it is important to outline what is meant by the term ‘open’ as this has various meanings to different stakeholder groups. PWYP Australia uses the Open Definition4 as its guide on how ‘open data’ should be interpreted as ‘Open data content can be freely used, modified, and shared by anyone for any purpose’.
