This submission from PWYP Australia and Tax Justice Network Australia looks at transparency and accountability issues in relation to the Commonwealth National Gas Infrastructure Plan. This includes public money going to some companies that using secrecy jurisdictions, Australia’s lack of beneficial ownership register and failure to implement and progress the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) know as gold standard of domestic resource governance.
